10 Reasons to Reevaluate Your Trust in Jesus

10 Reasons to Reevaluate Your Trust in Jesus

Let’s be honest—Jesus is a little too radical. He says things that don’t make sense, does things that don’t fit the mold, and refuses to play by the rules of power and influence. If you’ve put your trust in Him, you might want to reconsider. Here are 10 completely logical (and totally not ridiculous) reasons why trusting Jesus might not be the best idea.

1. He Hangs Out With Sinners

A real religious leader would know how to build the right connections. But Jesus? He spent His time with the lowest of the low—tax collectors, prostitutes, fishermen, and political radicals. Clearly, He didn’t get the memo that respectable people should only associate with other respectable people.

Honestly, it’s a bit suspicious. If He were really holy, wouldn’t He avoid unholy people?

2. He Doesn’t Charge for Miracles

A man who can heal the blind, multiply food, and even raise the dead—but He does it all for free? That’s either terrible business acumen or a sign He’s hiding something.

I mean, any good faith healer today knows you’ve got to pass the offering plate first. Jesus, on the other hand, just gives everything away—like He’s not even in it for the money. Red flag.

3. He Tells People to Love Their Enemies

Let’s be real—Jesus clearly never spent time on social media. Love your enemies? Pray for those who persecute you? That’s not how the world works. The real way to handle your enemies is to cancel them, insult them, and block them.

But no, Jesus has to go and tell people to turn the other cheek. What kind of strategy is that?

4. He Never Wrote a Book

Any serious world-changing leader knows the importance of writing a manifesto. But Jesus? Nothing. No autobiography, no self-help book, not even a motivational pamphlet.

Instead, He left it to His followers to write things down. That’s so risky. What if they got it wrong? A true influencer would’ve at least had an official blog.

5. He Doesn’t Play Politics

Jesus had a perfect opportunity to seize power. The Jewish people wanted a political savior. The Roman authorities were watching Him closely. If He had just taken a side, He could have started a movement that ruled the world.

But what did He do instead? He told people to pay their taxes and focus on God’s kingdom rather than earthly ones. Talk about a missed opportunity.

6. He Keeps Disappearing

One minute He’s in the synagogue, the next He’s in the wilderness, and suddenly He’s walking on water in the middle of the night. That’s some seriously unpredictable behavior.

How do you trust someone who never stays in one place? At least politicians and celebrities show up where we expect them. But Jesus? He vanishes whenever people try to make Him king.

7. He Flips Tables in Church

Most spiritual leaders are all about peace and harmony. But Jesus? He walks into the temple, sees people overcharging for sacrifices, and goes full Hulk mode—flipping tables and driving people out with a whip.

That’s not very “gentle and mild,” is it? A true religious leader should at least have the courtesy to file a formal complaint instead of causing a scene.

8. He Tells Rich People to Give Away Their Money

Jesus was so out of touch with financial success. Instead of telling people how to grow their wealth and invest wisely, He told a rich man to sell everything and give it to the poor.

That’s no way to encourage an economy. How are people supposed to build generational wealth if they’re just giving it away? Sounds like Jesus needed a financial advisor.

9. He Doesn’t Defend Himself in Court

When innocent people stand trial, they fight back. They hire lawyers. They make strong cases for their defense.

Jesus? Nope. He just stood there, barely saying a word, and let Himself get sentenced to death. That’s not how innocent people act! At least put up a fight, right?

10. He Dies and Comes Back

Now, this is just unfair. If you’re going to lose, at least stay down like a normal person.

But no, Jesus had to go and rise from the dead three days later. That’s the ultimate cheat code. How do you even argue against a guy who literally defeats death? It’s just not fair for the rest of us.

But Actually… Maybe Jesus Is Trustworthy

Okay, jokes aside—if Jesus were a fraud, He would have followed the playbook of every other so-called leader. But He didn’t. He did things no one expected, refused to manipulate people, and lived in a way that no liar ever could.

So, let’s flip this around and look at three real reasons why you should trust Jesus.

1. He Never Sought Power or Money

Most leaders are after something—control, wealth, influence. But Jesus had all the power in the universe and gave it up to serve others. He didn’t just talk about humility—He lived it.

2. He Predicted His Own Death and Resurrection

Anyone can claim to be the Messiah. But only Jesus backed it up by saying, “I will rise again”—and then actually doing it. If He kept that promise, maybe we should take the rest of His words seriously, too.

3. His Followers Were Willing to Die for Him

People don’t die for a lie. If Jesus’ resurrection was fake, His disciples would have cracked under pressure. Instead, they went to their deaths proclaiming He was alive.

No scam lasts 2,000 years. But the truth does.

Maybe It’s Not Jesus Who Needs Re-Evaluating

So, if you’ve ever doubted Jesus, maybe you’re not alone. Maybe the real problem isn’t that He’s untrustworthy—but that He’s too real, too unlike anything the world has ever seen.

Maybe the question isn’t, “Can I trust Jesus?” but rather, “Can I afford not to?”
